Lovely LunaPic Collages

Today we had a go at creating our own LunaPic Collage.

To do this we had to listen carefully and follow the rewindable instructions to find an image that was ok to use copyright wise, then upload it into the Artistic Collage part of LunaPic. We then selected art effects that we liked before screenshotting the creation and putting it on our slide.

We enjoyed looking for images and changing the effects.

It was hard, for some, to wait patiently for LunaPic to do it’s processing and also for a few people the image didn’t load so they had to choose another one.

We then posted on our own blogs about it – learning how to embed a slide in our post.

What a lot of learning!

Learning How to Post

We have been learning about how to craft a quality blog post, how to login to our new Edublog, and how to make a new post so we know what to do moving forth.

We created a draft using a template in Google Docs. The template had some prompts and sentence starters to help us.

We have included a screenshot of this template so you can see what it looks like.

We enjoyed finding work we are proud of and writing the post. It was challenging to remember some of the steps, so we are going to use the rewindable resources to help us next time.

Do you remember what it was like to put your first post on your blog? How did you feel?

Remove Background

We learnt how to use the Remove bg website to remove the background from our photos. We then put those photos onto a background image.

Can you work out where we are?

School of Fancy Fish

We used Google Drawings to make fish out of shapes. We also filled in the shapes with colour after we made them. We had to group all the shapes together so they didn’t all fall apart when you moved them. We changed the background and added image for a realistic or added a colour. We also added details like seaweed.

Some of the things we learnt to do were:

– arranging the order of shapes and images

– use the polyline and curve line tools and turn our curser back into a pointer before moving on

– making boders transparent (see through)

– how to group shapes together

We liked how our pictures looked when finished them. We had fun flipping images and putting shapes together.

It was a tricky making eyes for our fish and selecting the correct thing to then colour.

Next time we might try making other animals or creating an image to another theme and add more detail. We want to learn how to take our drawing and make it into an image we can use elsewhere.

Jonty has question we hope you can help with. How do you make circles a perfect shape?

Do you think we need to add anymore detail?

Introduction to Pukeko and Ruru Class Blog.

Kia ora koutou and welcome to Pukeko and Ruru class’ blog.  We are Year 4 and 5 students that work together in a shared classroom within the Tōtara (Year 4-6) Pod.

Koputaroa School is a country school. When we look out the window we see farm animals and trees.  We are north of Levin, Horowhenua, in the North Island of New Zealand.  The closest big town is Palmerston North and we are between Levin and Shannon.   We are close to the Tararua Ranges.  We have a huge rugby field.  We have 8 classes at our school, but our two classes work together as a team.  We have a pool, an amazing garden, a neat playground and a fluffy white school dog called Mali.  We have cool teachers.  We have fun in our class.

We like learning about Tikanga me te Te Reo Māori, Reading, Writing and Maths.  We enjoy learning at our school.  We love reading aloud with the Pod.

We also enjoy Dance, Art, Sport, learning about how to be Cybersmart, helping one another, Ag Day and games.

Here are some slides that we are currently adding to to describe things that we are proud of in our learning so far this year. We are aiming to complete these over the next week.
